The sky was clear, the flowers were blooming, and the park was empty. That day seemed like the perfect opportunity to capture some color to add to my collection. Sometimes its a challenge to fill my portfolio as a Dayton photographer, especially while working and going to school. But when presented a day off and blooming buds, it seemed only logical to grab the bull by the horns and head to Wegerzyn Gardens.

Gear for the Shoot
For this shoot I used my Nikon D5000, with a Tamron 70-300mm. I tried to shoot the flowers in shade or when clouds were in front of the sun. I did get to my minimum distance for focusing then opened up the aperture to the max for the focal length to get the smooth bokeh. As far as post goes, I just ran them into Lightroom 4 and set the sharpening, clarity, and vibrance.
