About Shooting Fire Dancers
I shot them at ISO 200. I used this setting because its the native ISO on the Nikon D5000 and allegedly the native setting is the lowest in noise production. I shot these at f8 to get a nice depth of field so two dancers would in focus. The shutter speed was six tenths of a second to capture the movement without blowing out the highlights in the flames. I did not have a tripod with me so I just shot handheld with the vibration reduction on. Then in post I boosted the blacks and adjusted the color to what suited my eye. I hope this helps you next time you run into teenagers wielding flaming batons!
